The Agbar Foundation is once again collaborating with the Red Cross children’s food programme

With this action, the Agbar Foundation is once again supporting the Red Cross children’s food programme, giving continuity to the agreement that it signed last year with this charitable institution.

The aim of this programme is to guarantee that a total of 873 children and their families at risk of social exclusion in Catalonia can maintain a healthy, wholesome and balanced diet during the summer holidays. It forms part of the Humanitarian Alliance for Children’s Food, a campaign that wants to manage to make 100,000 food aid distributions for children, involving all the social partners in order to confront the current situation of social emergency being experienced by the Catalan population, especially children. The campaign, which after signing this agreement has already collected more than €260,000 in individual and corporate contributions, has the support of the Agbar Foundation, among others, and is promoted through the social networks with the hashtag #ellsnopodenesperar. Full information on the Alliance can be found at www.ellsnopodenesperar.org

Committed to the most vulnerable

This agreement comes within the framework of the Agbar Foundation’s desire to collaborate with institutions which are carrying out projects aimed at correcting situations of food deficit.

Moreover, last year the Agbar Foundation and the Red Cross signed another agreement to mitigate the problems to pay for the water service of the elderly with difficulties received by this charitable institution. The agreement helped to strengthen the lines of action implemented by the Agbar Foundation to bring the Solidarity Fund to the groups which most need it. At today’s date, more than 15,000 subsidies have been granted, benefiting over 35,000 people.
